US female rapper, Cardi B will appear in front of the grand jury in Queens on Tuesday to defend herself against 14 charges against her including two for felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury.
Cardi who rejected a plea deal in April, tied to her arrest for a fight at a strip club in New York, and will now have to appear before a jury.
The rapper is alleged to have ordered an assault against two women, Jade and Baddi G, the former which she claims slept with her husband Offset. She is claimed to have instigated an attack, by telling her squad to attack the bartenders. Reports from that night say chairs, bottles, and hookahs were being thrown around at 3am.
She’s also facing charges of harassment and criminal solicitation.
The “I Like It” hitmaker is represented by attorney Jeff Kern told members of the media last fall, “We’re aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm on that night. We expect that the matter is going to be resolved expeditiously.”
After a quick separation, Cardi B and husband Offset are back together. They most recently attended the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards on Thursday, where she was honored as songwriter of the year.
Had the mom-of-one accepted the plea deal back in April, she’d have faced no jail time in exchange for pleading guilty to third degree misdemeanor assault.
